Grotto

We cook for you in the traditional way, without electricity, only with wood, using our barbecue and THE FIRE BALL. Here you can enjoy the view over the Val Resa as far as the magnificent mountain panorama. Here you can spend some wonderful hours and feast on excellent polenta variations with spezzatino/brasato or delicious local cheese specialties. Fresh salads with quail eggs, beans, pulses and seeds, etc. There is also a fine selection of wines and other delicious refreshments.

Our restaurant is a meeting place for families, hikers, bikers and connoisseurs who want to relax by the stream and appreciate the local recreation area. Away from the hustle and bustle and yet close to Lake Maggiore and just 15 minutes by car from Locarno train station. It is located on hiking and biking routes that lead over the Monti di Lego, into the Verzasca Valley to the famous dam wall with the James Bond bungee jump or from Cardada/Cimetta to Locarno. Our grotto invites you to linger during the day and in the evening. And if you’re in a hurry, we can also find something healthy to take away.

Restaurant

The polenta (vegan) is traditionally cooked over a wood fire for three hours and served in different variations, for example gratinated with cheese or seasonally with fresh herbs and vegetables from our own Mediterranean garden.

We also offer Ticino grill platters and cold platters with meat and cheese specialties. The products come from local partners (farmers, butchers, suppliers). There are also braised dishes such as brasato, spezzatino, vegetables, filet di manzo as well as chnobli bread and desserts – many prepared on the fireball.
